The original Plia Folding Chair was designed by Giancarlo Piretti for the label Anonima Castelli in the year 1967 and is an award-winning design classic.

With the Plia Folding Chair the Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti made design history! Its development of the 3-layer-joint with a smart, flat folding mechanism paved the way for this transparent folding chair by Anonima Castelli to become an international icon.

The Anonima Castelli folding chair features a chrome-plated steeltube frame, as well as a back and seat made of Cellidor plastic. Plia is about 51 cm wide, 76 cm high, and 48 cm deep. The seat height measures 43 cm. For the available versions of this design classic please see the "available product types".

The Plia Folding Chair is equipped with black plastic gliders, which prevent scratches on hardwood and laminate floors. You can stock up on the Plia gliders in the "accessories".

Designer Giancarlo Piretti was accorded a special honour: The Plia Folding Chair by Anonima Castelli was included into the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art MoMA in New York. Get yourself this original design classic from Italy for your kitchen, dining room, or living room!
