The stylish Eames Plastic Armchair LAR Chromed Base was designed by Ray and Charles Eames for Vitra.
The Eames duo, Ray and Charles, designed iconic furniture in the 1950s that is as stylish today as it was 70 years ago. The Eames plastic armchair range was the first mass-produced furniture of its kind, and today they are produced by the Swiss company Vitra, the only official European and Middle Eastern manufacturer of Eames furniture.
Featuring a distinctive cat's cradle base in chromed steel, this chair is stable and comfortable to sit on. The Eames Plastic Armchair LAR Chromed Base has a moulded plastic seat that has been cleverly designed to provide support for the back while looking stylish from every angle. A full range of Eames plastic chairs is available - the LAR chairs are lounge height with the seat at a lower 25.5cm from the floor. The seat is created from dyed polypropylene, a material that is lightweight, hard wearing, easily cleaned and eminently practical. There are other Eames LAR models available with a choice of base and seat colours. Suitable for smaller spaces in the home or office, this chair measures a compact 62.5cm wide and 61cm deep.
