The In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Walnut was designed by Sami Kallio for the brand &Tradition.
For nearly a century, &Tradition has been paying tribute to Danish design. It delivers timeless appeal while bridging the gap between design classics and modern pieces of furniture. Sami Kallio comes from a background in Traditional woodworking. He turns classic shapes into functional pieces that have contemporary aesthetic appeal. Among his prizes is the Miaw Muuuz International Award.
Invoking the simple outlines of furniture from the 1950s and 1960s, the In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Walnut plays with negative and positive space. The finely worked shape of the chair is just as important as the gaps in the backrest. With its structured lines and comfortable padded seat, it conjures up images of both cosy family dining and elegant dinner parties. The chair is crafted from two Traditional techniques, compression moulding for lightness and strength and woodturning for greater detail. The In Between SK2 Chair Upholstered Frame Walnut has a walnut frame with a fabric-covered foam seat. Part of a collection of tables and chairs, the SK2's dimensions are 58 x 77 x 54 cm with a seat height of 45cm.
