The S 32 V Cantilever Chair with Wickerwork was designed by Marcel Breuer for Thonet.
Thonet takes its name from the master carpenter who launched the brand in the 19th-century. As one of the first furniture manufacturers to transition from hand-crafting to industrial production, the label became a global success. In the early 20th-century it was known for classic tubular steel furniture designs which are now being reissued. Hungarian designer and architect Marcel Breuer was a big influence on the development of tubular steel design with his work is now exhibited worldwide.
Crafted from steel tube, stained beech and wickerwork, the S 32 V Cantilever Chair with Wickerwork is a versatile piece of furniture that looks just as much at home in domestic settings as in offices and public spaces. While totally modern in looks, its elegant lines complement interior design from any period. The seat and backrest frames are made from solid beech, which gives a pleasing contrast to the lightness of the wickerwork infill. The seat is supported by tubular steel moulded into angular lines. The S 32 V Cantilever Chair with Wickerwork measures 46 x 82 x 60 cm with a seat height of 46cm.
