Vertigo Suspension Lamp S

The Vertigo Suspension Lamp S has been created by Constance Guisset for the brand Petite Friture. Its unexampled design won its creator prestigious awards. One such award is the Grand Prix du Design de la ville de Paris in 2008 and another is the 2009 public prize at the Design Parade in Villa Noailles.

The Vertigo Suspension Lamp S brings to mind the angled rim of a woman's sun hat. The effect is achieved with rods of fibreglass reinforced with a coating of polyurethane. The rods have different lengths. They are attached to the centre at different angles which is how the look of a slanted shade is achieved. The centre is where the LED light source is encased. It casts a soft, warm light. When the light is on, the ribbons draw intriguing patterns of light and shadows on the wall and ceiling. The upper part of the glass, spherical casing supports the suspension cable that goes up to the ceiling into a round canopy.

The Vertigo Suspension Lamp S has a height of 12cm and a diameter of 110cm. Its cable is 300cm long. It comes in neutral colours with dark or light tones. The size of this lamp makes it ideal for use in small rooms. This lamp strikes a perfect balance between art and science with its design and functionality.
