Product description

The Alpina Chair has been created by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby for the brand Magis. At least half of the materials used to make it are recycled. This puts it in the category of Sustainable Choice products.

The Alpina Chair is the designers' take on the traditional chair that has simple lines and yet is elegant and versatile. It has a high backrest with sides that are curved inwards. It cradles the back providing ample support and comfort. It is made of bio-based polypropylene derived purely from cooking oil waste and can be completely recyclable. Its curve is formed through an injection moulding process. The seat is also generously sized and has a curved inner edge that fits into the backrest's curve. The seat is quite thick making it very strong and durable. It is made of FSC-certified ash wood.

The Alpina Chair has a width of 45cm, a height of 81cm and a depth of 42cm. Its seat height is 45cm and its backrest height of 81cm. The chair comes with a matching natural or dark-varnished seat and base or an earthy backrest with a natural base. Comfy seat pads upholstered with felt are available for purchase separately.
