The Caleo 2 Suspension Lamp was created by Rikke Frost for the label Le Klint.
The Caleo lamp won the 2019 Novum Sustainable Design of the Year Award and has also been nominated for the Danish Design Awards 2019. This lamp appeared in prototype on the DRI culture show in which Rikke Frost was a contestant. She went on to partner with Le Klint and bring this unique lighting fixture to the market. The original hand-pleated lampshade which has become such a design staple was first invented by the engineer P Jensen-Klint at the start of the 20th century. He went on to launch his lighting business in 1943.
The Caleo 2 Suspension Lamp has an irregular oval shape and is comprised of pleated, sustainable paper which has a stringed, metal covering. This fine metallic stringing adds another dimension to the paper shade, allowing it to emit luminous warm lighting in any space. Other suspension lamps are available within the Caleo Collection in different shapes and sizes. The IP20-rated lamp has a height of 56cm and a depth of 36cm and requires one E27 LED bulb, not supplied.
