The Caleo 1 Suspension lamp was created by Rikke Frost for the Danish manufacturer Le Klint.
This lighting brand launched in 1943, but founder and engineer P V Jensen-Klint actually invented the first ever pleated lampshade for a paraffin lamp in the early 20th century. The designer Rikke Frost achieved renown for her original table lamp design which Le Klint helped her turn into this true classic Danish lighting solution. She was the overall winner of the DR1 show.
The Caleo Collection features unique, hand-crafted lighting solutions. This Caleo 1 Suspension light features a pale shade enhanced with a unique patterning of black metal "stringing". The lamp is fabricated from paper and metal, and requires one E27 LED bulb, which can be ordered separately. This lamp has an IP20 rating and takes bulbs from A++ to E. It measures 33cm in height, 24cm in diameter, and has a diffuser with a diameter of 24cm. The lamp has a conical shape and works well when hung with different sized lamps from the Caleo Collection. This Caleo 1 is particularly effective when hung over dining tables, as it adds ambient illumination that is extremely atmospheric.
