The innovative AI Armchair was designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell.
Philippe Starck is a world-famous French designer who creates a wide range of products from household furniture to boats. Collaborating with Kartell, an Italian producer of beautiful furniture, and the Autodesk software brand, Starck used artificial intelligence to design the AI Armchair. Instructing the software to create a chair using the minimum quantity of material, Starck also guided the program so it designed a seat that expressed his personal influence and the style of Kartell, too. The resulting chair is stylish, flexible and ecologically friendly.
This chair is the first to be designed by artificial intelligence and mass produced using an injection moulded process. The thermoplastic technopolymer material used is 100% recycled, offering an eco-friendly product for the home. The methods used in manufacture create a seamless and jointless piece of furniture. These AI chairs can be used in a home or business setting, and as they are waterproof, they also suit an outdoor space. Ideal for anyone with allergies, the material can be hygienically cleaned with ease. There is a variety of different colours available to choose from which can be mixed and matched to suit every décor.
