The Nara Desk has been created by Jan Kurtz for the brand Jan Kurtz. It is a piece that is designed to offer versatility so it can be used for different purposes in different settings.
The Nara Desk is made of solid oak. The wood is finished with a coat of oil that keeps it conditioned and protected from the elements. The desk has a rectangle-shaped tabletop. The outer edge is raised. Apart from adding aesthetic value, the raised edge ensures that items placed on the desk do not fall over the side. On the other side is a drawer. It is positioned unobtrusively under the desk with a cut-out handle that eliminates the need for hardware. This works well with the minimalist design. The tabletop is supported by a frame made of sturdy legs. Rather than straight, they are slightly outspread which serves the purpose of enhancing the desk's stability and strength.
The Nara Desk has a width of 120cm, a height of 83cm and a depth of 60cm. With its refined design, it can be used as a desk in an office space or a place for homework in a child's room. It would also work well as a console table in a small house or studio apartment.
