The Model 597 Table Lamp has been created by Gianfranco Frattini for the brand Gubi. It is an example of the designer's unique ability to create a fully functional, beautiful lamp. It aptly captures a trend that dominated the 1950s Italian interior design scene.
The Model 597 Table Lamp has a drum-shaped body made of polished aluminium. The top is covered with reflective aluminium which reflects and bounces the light cast by the lamp. A highlight of the lamp that sets it apart is the fringe that covers it. They are made of nylon and add an intriguing detail. The body of the lamp has six lateral bulbs inside. There is also one on top that casts overhead light. They provide ample indirect light all around the room, filling the space with light. It is filtered and softened by the fringes.
The Model 597 Table Lamp has a height of 29cm and a diameter of 26cm. Its cable is 210cm long and it is where you find the inline on/off switch. A separate control is available on the cover at the top. It works with an E14 socket and a bulb has to be purchased separately.
