Product description

The Model 597 Floor Lamp has been created by Gianfranco Frattini for the brand Gubi. When the designer debuted the piece in 1961, it launched his career. Its innovative design was inspired by fashion and the fringed curtains that were commonly found in 1950s bars and grocery stores.

The Model 597 Floor Lamp has a round, drum-shaped shade decorated with nylon fringes. It is made of polished aluminium. It is reflective which adds warmth and brightness reflecting light and bouncing it around a room. The lamp is lit by six lateral bulbs that encircle the perimeter of the round base. They cast indirect light that is softened by the fringes. An extra bulb is positioned at the top from where it casts overhead light.

The Model 597 Floor Lamp has a height of 45cm and a diameter of 42cm. Its cable which has an inline on/off switch has a length of 210cm. It is not dimmable. It comes in neutral colours. It works with an E27 socket and a bulb has to be purchased separately. Wherever it is placed, it brings a touch of fun, vintage charm.
