The Roest 20 Ceiling Lamp has been created by VanJoost for the brand graypants. The product of a joint venture between Dutch artist Joost van Veldhuizen and Seattle-based graypants, Roest is a radical departure in home lighting. Making imaginative use of steel, this lamp is full of creative touches that separate it from the crowd.

Roest means rust in Dutch, and a quick glance at the Roest 20 Ceiling Lamp is enough to see why the name was chosen. The designer has used artfully rusted steel to create a beautiful texture which will harmonise well with modern and more traditional interiors alike. The rusted tones combine well with the light source, casting an insistent light directly downwards without excessive glare.

This entry in the Roest series is intended to attach to ceilings. The lamp is 20cm high and has a diameter of 11.4cm, making it fairly compact.
