TheKaiser Idell? 6722-P Suspension Lamp was created by Christian Dell for the brand Fritz Hansen, a Danish furniture design company with a long history of collaborating with international designers to bring their ideas to life.
The German silversmith and designer Christian Dell worked in the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar, where he created innovative and pioneering designs. He designed lamps for Kaiser and Co that have become sought-after interior icons. Dell's designs utilise precision engineering and beautiful materials.
The Kaiser Idell? 6722-P Suspension Lamp is today recognised as an iconic example of Bauhaus design, and this minimalist pendant lamp does indeed possess a timeless quality. A single suspension light in one of the high gloss colours of this range would make a statement when set above a dining table. Hung in a row, suspension lamps add drama above a kitchen bench. The shades are coated with an acid-hardened lacquer. Other metal parts of the luminaire are chrome plated. The lamp is 15.5cm high and the diameter is 14.5cm. The lamp cable length is 300cm and the lamp weighs 0.6kg.
