Product description

The Ikeru Vase Low has been created by Jaime Hayon for the brand Fritz Hansen. Its name and design are inspired by 'ikebana'. This is an ancient form of Japanese flower arrangement art. It promotes the arrangement of individual stems in their own space rather than as a bunch. This is done by placing them in flutes rather than vases.

The Ikeru Vase Low combines the principle of ikebana with conventional flower arrangement with its innovative type of vase. It has a glass tray that holds water to keep the flowers fresh. The stems sit in aluminium, rounded flutes. They have different sizes which enhances the visual impact of the vase. They are set on a round plate so that they can fit into the similarly shaped glass tray. There is a small space between the plate and the tray that ensures the stems are not crushed. Rather, they remain upright and are always in contact with the water.

The Ikeru Vase Low has a height of 131.1cm and a diameter of 19cm. Both the flutes and the plate are tinted which enhances the vase's impact. Apart from flowers, the flutes can hold other decorative items like feathers and pampas grass.
