The Shoemaker No. 68™ Bar Stool has been created by Werner for the brand Form & Refine. It is an upgrade of the original 1936 shoemaker's stool that was used by the tradesmen for comfortable seating while they got on with their work. The improvements reformed the shape of the seat and made it stronger and more stable.
The Shoemaker No. 68™ Bar Stool has a seat made of solid European beech or oak. It is rimmed and has a raise in the middle that divides it into two. This enhances the comfort of the seat. Its rounded edge with the shape of a half moon ensures that the stool will not break if it falls over. The stool has a frame made of rounded legs that are angled outwards which makes it more stable, strong and durable. The stool has three legs rather than the conventional four. Similarly shaped bars running across the legs form footrests. These also make give the stool added strength.
The Shoemaker No. 68™ Bar Stool has a width of 53.5cm, a height of 68cm and a depth of 44.5cm. Its seat height is 65cm. It comes in smoked, natural or white-pigmented oak or white oiled or dark-stained beech.
