Product description

The Tavolo Con Ruote Coffee Table 140x70cm has been created by Gae Aulenti for the brand Fontana Arte. Its design was inspired by the industrial trollies that are used in factories. It was combined with glass to create a very unique coffee table. Apart from being available for sale, it is on show at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA.

The Tavolo Con Ruote Coffee Table 140x70cm has a rectangular tabletop made of tempered glass that will not easily break. It has a thickness of 1.5cm and is bevelled which adds a subtle decorative touch. It is also clear which puts its unique base on display. The glass takes the place of the wood that is used on factory trollies. The glass sits on free-rolling wheels. They are large which is in keeping with the size of the industrial wheels that inspired the design. The wheels also make it easy to move the table safely without having to lift it which protects the glass. They are held in place by painted metal brackets.
