The German designer Markus Honka was born in 1965. After having finished his professional training as a furniture carpenter and clerk, he studied interior design.
In 1997 Honka founded the studio "honkahe interieur + furniture" in Nuremberg, Germany and since then has been working as an independent designer having tremendous success and winning numerous design awards.
"By means of my multi-facetted professional training I have an open eye for the needs of my customers and for practical solutions. I do not simply regard design as a blueprint. Instead, I am involved in the entire production process. This is the only way by which I can assure to live up to my quality-requirements.
I very much value the open and constructive communication with the firms I am working with. This is the key for a first draft ending in a successful realization of a product that is ready for the market."
Among his job as a designer Honka works as a lecturer in the faculty architecture at the university of applied science in Nuremberg.
