Chic and discreet is the Talo collection by manufacturer Artemide. Its creator, the Scottish designer living in Paris Neil Poulton, is famous for his functional, modern design vocabulary, and with his Talo collection from 2002 created a versatile design highlight for the Italian lighting manufacturer.
Talo lamps are very flat and have almost no depth, so that they are especially suited as wall lamp Talo Parete. But also as suspension lamp Talo Sospensione the Talo lamps cut a fine figure, no matter if they are applied in a business or private environment. With their rather discreet hi-tech look the lamps from the Talo collection successfully adapt to very different interior designs.
Made out of a single block of aluminium the Talo lamps show no disrupting welding seams and with their rounded corners look especially harmonious. Talo lamps give off bright, indirect room light upwards and downwards. Even at eye level the lamps from the Talo collection stay totally glare-free, for their illuminant is set right in the middle of the lamp body, which is covered with borosilicate glass on the top as well as the bottom. Thus the Talo lamps emit an especially soft light that illuminates your room indirectly.
All lamps from the Talo collection are available in three lengths with 90, 120, or 150 cm. The aluminium body of the Talo lamp is lacquered in either white or silver grey, or available in a chrome-plated version. The Talo lamps are fitted with halogen lamps or compact fluorescent energy saving lamps, which are distinguished with high efficiency and longevity.
Designer Neil Poulton included the wall lamp Talo Parete as well as the suspension lamp Talo Sospensione into the Talo collection, which is also available as suspension lamp Talo Catamarano; the latter features two light bodies, which are reminiscent of the two trunks of a catamaran. For his Talo lamps he received numerous design awards, like the iF design award, the Compasso d'Oro, and the red dot award.
With the Talo collection the Italian design manufacturer Artemide succeeded in designing classic illumination that will delight and accompany us a long ways.
