The Tizio 50 LED Desk Lamp was designed by Richard Sapper for the brand Artemide. Based in Milan, Artemide has been pushing the boundaries of lighting design since 1960, fashioning streamlined and forward-thinking lamps and lights which are always centred around the needs of users. German maestro Sapper was a long term partner of the brand, creating Tizio in 1972. Now, this iconic desk lamp has been reissued and overhauled, including new variants like the Tizio 50 LED Desk Lamp, which will capture the attention of today's professionals and students.
Everything about the Tizio 50 LED Desk Lamp is geared towards function. For instance, its unique system of counterweights allows users to manipulate the arm with incredible precision and ease. The arm itself is made from lacquered metal and extends to a maximum height of 66cm, while the diffuser can lean 78cm across any surface without overbalancing. This model of Tizio lamp was initially designed to fit 50W bulbs hence the name , but the updated version now includes an ultra-efficient 8W LED fixed inside the luminaire. This optimises its ability to illuminate surfaces, ensures a long lifetime, and also keeps the unit extremely cool.
