The Nesso Table Lamp was designed by Giancarlo Mattioli for Artemide.
The Artemide brand was founded in 1960 in Milan, one of the world's undisputed design capitals. The ethos behind the company's manufacturing principles blend sustainability with innovation as well as beautiful form and excellent function. Working with celebrated designers, the brand has produced some the 20th century's most iconic lamps. This includes Giancarlo Mattioli, who designed the enduring Nesso Table Lamp.
This playful lamp is arguably one of the brand's most well-known designs. Created by Mattioli back in 1967, not only has the lamp remained in production ever since, but it has also appeared in countless shows and design exhibitions over the last half century. The plastic lamp resembles a wide mushroom, the base of which replicates the stalk and the mushroom 'cup' holding the light source. This playful light is an excellent example of the 1960s Space Age design trend. The Nesso Table Lamp has a diameter of 54cm and requires 4x Halogen-Drop bulbs which can be found on the Accessory pages.
