The Gople Terra Floor Lamp was created by the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) for the design company Artemide.
Italian company Artemide is one of the world's best-known names in architectural and design-led home lighting solutions. The company works closely with award-winning designers to bring about iconic pieces, including the Danish-US Bjarke Ingels Group, with whom the brand created the Gople range, a series of environmentally-friendly glass lamps.
The chic Gople Terra Floor Lamp comprises a small round, flat base with a slim stand, both constructed from aluminium. Atop the stand is an oval-shaped glass lampshade with straight sides and a curved top and bottom. The lampshade features a playful two-tone design, whereby the transparent colour fades to opaque, allowing for a change in the illumination provided. The clear-to-opaque glass design is created using traditional handblown Venetian techniques. The lamp measures 170cm in height. The base has a diameter of 32 cm and the shade has a diameter of 21 cm. This light requires an E27 bulb, and is a part of the wider Gople collection, which includes a choice of suspension and table lamps.
