The 66 chair, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935 for the Finnish label Artek. It is one in a series of the same design, which in addition to the chairs also includes stools and bar stools.
Alvar Aalto. who is one of the most famous designers of modern designs of the 20th century, designed this chair in a reduced form inspired by the Bauhaus style. Technically innovative for its time, the 66 chair is made from curved plywood, resulting in the L-shape characteristic of the chair legs.
Not only its particular style, but also the natural materials from which it is made helped the 66 chair gain huge popularity. The 66 chair from Artek can be used in private areas as a classic chair in the dining room, yet also in public areas such as cafeterias.
