The Saya Chair With Skid Legs was designed by the Lievore Altherr Molina studio for the leading Italian furniture manufacturer Arper. For nearly thirty years, Alberto Lievore, Jeanette Altherr and Manel Molina have run a very successful studio together in Barcelona, creating pieces which share Arper's signature aesthetic of elegant simplicity and pure, functional forms. Their international list of clientele includes high street banks and watch manufacturers as well as producers of luxury light fittings and furnishings.
Measuring 76cm in height and 52cm in width with a seat height of 45cm, the Saya Chair With Skid Legs consists of an upper shell of bent plywood available in a choice of stains and finishes resting on a chromed steel base. The most striking feature of the chair is the shape of the backrest, with cutaway sections on either side creating an eye-catching silhouette. At the same time the design is also practical, with the lower portion of the backrest angled to provide lumbar support and the choice of materials delivering lightweight sturdiness. Stylish yet rugged, the Saya Chair With Skid Legs is a great option for college libraries and canteens as well as domestic kitchens and study areas.
