The stylish Vitra Felt Glider DAX/DSX was created by Charles and Ray Eames for the giant design label Vitra.
Born in 1907 in St. Louis, Charles attended Washington University where he studied architecture. Working in collaboration with various other designers, he helped design houses before joining the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1938. His wife, Ray, was born Bernice Alexandra Kaiser in 1912 in Sacramento. Charles and Ray married before relocating to Los Angeles to embark on their marriage and career together. Feeling sufficiently philanthropic, they began to work on furniture designs that would be both comfortable and affordable. However, their dream was cut short by the Second World War, and instead, they embarked on developing leg splints for the US Navy. But it didn't stop them from designing the amazing Vitra Felt Glider DAX/DSX for Vitra.
The stylish item meausures only 1cm in depth and features plastic and felt materials. Monochrome in colour, this product can complement your existing indoor themes easily. It is also durable and easy to clean. You can use the Vitra Felt Glider DAX/DSX to complement the Eames Plastic Armchair DAR Black Base.
