Resting Bear Decorative Object

This Resting Bear Decorative Object was designed by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren for the manufacturer Vitra.

Sofia and Anna founded the Front design studio in 2004. The duo design decorative objects that mimic slumbering creatures, especially those that have a close connection with humans. The concept of hibernating animals took root when Sofia and Anna interviewed several people about the most emotionally appealing objects in their lives. It turned out to be animals whose specific attributes strike a chord in the lives of many people. This concept has propelled them into the limelight, and many of their artworks feature at the MoMA of New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Measuring 91.8cm in length, 53.1cm in width and 33.8cm in height, the Resting Bear Decorative Object is made from a variety of materials including wood, plastic granules, moulded foam, and knitwear. These materials lend durability to this product and make it aesthetically appealing. Similar products include the Wooden Doll Cat, Silhouettes Table Decoration and the Metal Wall Relief Sun.
