The Moor AP8 Rug Square

The Moor AP8 Rug Square has been created by All The Way To Paris for the brand &Tradition. The brainchild of TanjaVibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, All the Way to Paris is a multi-disciplinary studio known for pushing the envelope. However, this is done with respect to Scandinavian design traditions. This means that their pieces are clean, with unexpected, subtle detail that makes them stand out. The Moor AP8 Rug Square illustrates the studio partners' design ethos and abilities. With this rug, the focus was kept on colour, shape and texture without any pattern. The goal was to design a rug that pulls all the elements in a room together rather than being a focal point itself, and this has been accomplished outstandingly. Another outstanding detail is a subtle shimmer added using viscose that is inspired by the glitter of a gemstone. The rug is woven on a handloom with pure New Zealand wool which gives it a soft, dense velvety look and feel. The edges of the rug are angled; another detail that is minimal but has a significant visual impact.
