The In Between Chair SK1 was designed by Sami Kallio for furniture brand AndTradition.
Kallio was born in Helsinki, Finland and moved to Sweden at the age of two. Having completed high school in Sweden, he obtained a BA and MA in design at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg and co-founded furniture manufacturer Brikolor in 2009. In 2011, he established Sami Kallio Studio and launched his first collection The Finnish Blood in Me. Kallio's diverse heritage is honoured in his work, which, in the designer's own words, combines the melancholy of his native Finnish design heritage and the humour of Swedish tradition.
The In Between Chair SK1 showcases contrasting traditional and modern lines as well as design forms that give the chair a truly unique style. Constructed in high-quality ash or oak wood, the chair is available in several neutral tones that work well in any indoor space and will match nicely with any kind of décor. The chair is 58cm wide, 77cm high, 54cm deep, has an armrest height of 70cm and a seat height of 45cm. At 10kg, the chair can be moved around easily but feels sturdy and will not slip during use.
