This delectable Octo 4240 Suspension Lamp was created by Seppo Koho for manufacturer Secto Design.

Secto Design is a creatively orientated company that contains its entire production process within the Finnish borders. Untreated Finnish Birch is used in the creation of each model and the results speak to the quality of the material used. Koho's designs are a masterclass in how to control and channel light into a shape that entices rather than offends the eye.

The glare of this light fixture is offset by the diffused way that it is allowed to pass through the timber struts, lighting an internal fire that creates a kind of campfire feel. The design also has something of the Chinese lantern about it, or a spiritual foreignness that is hard to define. Ideal for a variety of home and work spaces, these lamps have also found their place amongst the décor of restaurants around the world. Standing 68cm high and 54cm in diameter, the Octo 4240 Suspension Lamp has a cable length of 150cm, allowing it to suspend gracefully and to a useful depth from even high-ceiling rooms. It is a striking and well-rounded design worthy of attention.
