Product description

The Hamburger Stool with Sail Rope has been created by Andreas Ostwald for the brand Philippi. German industrial Ostwald is anything but a follower of the crowd. Instead, he blazes his own trail with designs that are all his own due to their innovativeness and originality. The Hamburger Stool with Sail Rope is one of his unexampled designs.

The stool is a tribute to fans of the sea or ocean whether as lovers of water sports or just cruising on the water. It is manufactured by a brand in Hamburg from which it derives part of its name. It has a mushroom shape with a rounded top that tapers downwards before broadening out at the bottom to form a circular base. It is made of durable matt galvanised or nickel polished. A thick sail rope on top of the base completes the look. The stool has been to resemble the kind of bollard that ships are attached to when docked. It represents departure, going back, arrival and taking time to be still and reflective of where one is. The Hamburger Stool with Sail Rope has a height of 42cm, a diameter of 38cm and a seat height of 42cm. If there is a symbol of being anchored in unique style, this is it.
