Pepe Stool

The Pepe Stool has been created by Raffaella Mangiarotti for the brand Opinion Ciatti. Pepe is a truly original stool design. Inspired by the form of riding saddles, it mixes leather and steel to fine effect. The result is a composition which looks like no other stool, and one that blends outstanding aesthetics with comfort that makes it a pleasure to use.

The saddle like form of the Pepe Stool is based around a steel interior. This steel frame delivers excellent strength to the design, as well as a stable feel that resembles sitting astride a horse. But the most attention-grabbing aspect of the stool is its exterior covering. Mangiarotti has chosen to clad the stool in hand-stitched natural leather, allowing the stitching and the rich brown or black tone of the material to combine in a look which evokes images of mounted cowboys.

The Pepe Stool brings a touch of the Wild West to almost any interior space. It measures 48cm wide, 32cm deep and 58cm high - dimensions that will mix well with most coffee tables. And the way the stool is composed accentuates the curves of the saddle shape, making the stool melt into its surroundings without bringing any discordance to interior designs
