The Krenit Bowl Ø 16 cm was originally created by Herbert Krenchel and has been reissued by the Danish label Normann.
Normann creates design classics of the future while adding its own stamp to famous designs from the archives. As a civil engineer, Danish-born Herbert Krenchel was fascinated by mid-20th-century advances in industrial materials. His work balanced function, aesthetics and tactile appeal. This bowl design won the Milan Triennale Gold Medal in 1954.
The name of the Krenit Bowl Ø 16 cm is a combination of Krenchel and Eternit, a fibre cement with which Herbert Krenchel liked to work. Its design was distinctly Scandinavian in appearance with its beautifully rounded shape, crisp sharp edge and muted colour contrasts. This modern reworking keeps the elegant shape of the bowl and the balance between function and aesthetics, but is produced in coated steel. The bowl is not only perfect for holding and displaying food in the kitchen or dining room but also brings an ornamental touch to any room of the home. The Krenit Bowl Ø 16 cm is 7.1cm in height, has a capacity of 0.6l and, with a little care, will last a lifetime.
