The La Roche LED Wall Lamp has been created by Le Corbusier for the brand Nemo. The late Swiss-French creative Corbusier was an architect, product designer and urban planner. He is considered one of the fathers of modern architecture. Due to this background, he designed products with clean, uncluttered lines and became known for purist, bold pieces with a timeless, understated elegance.
This is well exemplified in the La Roche LED Wall Lamp, which was Corbusier's first wall lamp. He created it to illuminate the large windows of a villa he designed. This dimmable wall lamp has a tubular matt metallic rod that has a bottle-shaped glass shade attached to it. The original design was a long, bare bulb that was fastened onto a supporting metal base. Nemo updated the design and added new technology. This included the glass shade, reshaped aluminium base and an LED board that is built into a glass diffuser shaped to resemble an incandescent bulb. The updated La Roche LED Wall Lamp gives a warm, soft diffused illumination, the intensity of which can be adjusted with the dimmer. It is 4.5cm wide, 37cm high and has a depth of 10cm.
