The Cal 1 New Zealand Wool Carpet 95x125cm has been created by Nani Marquina for the brand Nanimarquina. The brand is the brainchild of industrial designer Marquina who learned her discipline at the feet of her father, award winner Rafael Marquina. She went on to achieve similar feats, winning awards for her designs and her success as a female entrepreneur. One of her most popular and novel designs is the Cal 1 New Zealand Wool Carpet 95x125cm.Its design is inspired by Alexander Calder's mobiles that defy convention by using curvilinear rather than regular, straight shapes. The carpet has irregular shapes achieved by a technique known as hand tufting. It uses a pistol-like tool to put holes in yarn that has been stretched in a frame. This method allows for curvilinear shapes to be formed at different pile heights and with different colours. It also makes for high-density and durable carpets. Pure New Zealand wool is used.

The Cal 1 New Zealand Wool Carpet 95x125cm has a length of 125cm and a width of 95cm. It has a thickness of 2cm and a density of 56.000 knots/m2. It is available in a choice of colours. It can be laid in a space with similar or different colours to create a whole new pattern.
