Container New Antiques Stool

The Container New Antiques Stool has been created by Marcel Wanders for the brand Moooi. It incorporates features that were typically seen in architecture from the Classical Era. In particular, it is reminiscent of Greek architecture which commonly had pillars in front of buildings. This is why it has Antiques in its name.

The Container New Antiques Stool is made of polyethylene. It is a type of industrial plastic. It is the one that is most frequently used because it is light, strong and versatile in terms of what it can be used to manufacture. The stool has a round top that is quite thick. It then narrows out from underneath and then broadens out. Double rings at the points of extension enhance these elegant curves. The pattern is replicated at the bottom where it ends with a solid round base.

The Container New Antiques Stool has a height of 44cm, a diameter of 40cm and a seat height of 44cm. It comes in neutral colours and can safely be used indoors as well as outdoors because of the material it is made of. It is a piece that combines the old and the new which makes the term new antique so fitting.
