The Flow Stool Frame LEM has been designed by French furniture expert Jean Marie Massaud for the Italian label MDF Italia and is a stunning piece of contemporary seating design.
Massaud is both one of France's most prominent interior product designers and a key collaborator with MDF Italia. He has been a regular recipient of the highest awards in the design world, including Red Dot Awards, thanks to collections like Flow.
Massaud's Flow collection is one of the MDF's most popular ranges. All of its component products try to reduce conventional forms to their essence, creating designs like the Flow Stool Frame LEM where nothing seems superfluous and everything is in its right place.
The stool has a bowl shaped seat with a low back that has been artfully moulded using polyurethane to accommodate the shape of the human body. The seat rests firmly on a four-legged base with lattice-like supports made from aluminium. This provides a little bit of extra strength, ensuring that the stool will be durable and stable (but not adding any unnecessary clutter to the minimalist design). It all measures 65 x 44 x 65 cm and is a compact, economically designed and beautiful stool.
