Having graduated in 1969 from the Milan Polytechnic in Mechanical Engineering, Alberto Meda began working as an industrial designer and as a lecturer at the Venice University Institute of Architecture. His outstanding contribution to the field of lighting design saw him bag the famous Compasso d'Oro Award thrice - in 1989, 1994 and 2008. His companion, Paolo Rizzatto, also graduated from Milan Polytechnic before working with many Italian and foreign design labels that included Laura Meroni and Artemide. He has won many awards including the Compasso d'Oro.
