The PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp was created by legendary Danish designer Poul Henningsen for the Louis Poulsen label and is an iconic piece of twentieth century lighting design. With its anti-glare features and beautiful appearance, it's an Art Deco masterpiece that will enhance anyone's living spaces.
Henningsen may have died in 1967, but his influence lives on. From the 1920s onwards, he worked closely with Louis Poulsen to develop an innovative range of household lights. The PH range, as it came to be called, sought to avoid the glare caused by badly made household lights. Instead, Henningsen adopted a series of bowl-shaped shades with remarkable results.
The first consequence of his new design was an exotic, almost futuristic appearance, partially resembling a flying saucer. But more importantly, the PH 3/2 Suspension Lamp tightly focused the beam from its bulb, using matte and clear glass elements to distribute a soft, glare-free glow.
The design may now be old, but it remains highly effective. The light itself measures 29cm in diameter, comes with a cable length of 300cm and is 24cm tall. Weighing just 1.5kg, it is also easy to install and remove if needed.
