The Saarinen Table Ø107cm - Outdoor was designed by the late Finnish designer Eero Saarinen for furniture manufacturer Knoll International.
Born in Finland in 1910, Saarinen immigrated with his family to the United States in 1923. He took courses in sculpture and furniture design in Michigan and became friends with fellow designers Charles and Ray Eames. Saarinen later developed a design partnership with Knoll International and designed many important pieces of furniture such as the Grasshopper and Tulip chairs. Saarinen was elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1952 and won the AIA Gold Medal in 1962.
The Saarinen Table Ø107cm - Outdoor blends a minimalist design with a neutral colour palette for a sophisticated look that works well with any outdoor space. This piece was designed during a 15-year collaborative period between Knoll and Eero Saarinen, with the designer aiming to create objects with the ideal balance of curves and lines. Standing at 72cm tall and with a 107cm tabletop diameter, the table provides ample space for eating, working and socialising. The robust plastic and Rilsan frame has a weather proof construction, so that the table can be used in any outdoor environment including gardens, terraces and balconies.
