Product description

The Stone Stool has been created by Marcel Wanders for the brand Kartell. Based in his self-named studio located in Amsterdam, industrial designer Wanders works with his team to create designs that respect the past and represent the diverse cultures of the world. This approach leads to the design of poetic, unique pieces like the Stone Stool. It is his take on the original design created by Giulio Castelli back in 1949. It is made of contemporary polycarbonate. The transparent one resembles acrylic which gives it a transparent appearance. It has a symmetrical linear shape that mimics an hourglass shape. It also has faceted surfaces that reflect light and bounce it around beautifully. The coloured stools in particular reflect light strikingly on their irregular geometrical facets.

The Stone Stool has a height of 45cm and a diameter of 30cm. It is available in several colours including metallic finishes, neutral colours and one that combines black and white. This stunning, versatile stool can be used indoors as well as outdoors. Apart from providing extra seating when needed, these stools can be used as side tables and their look can be played up with accessories like a flower vase or lamp.
