Q/Wood Office Chair Beech

The Q/Wood Office Chair Beech has been created by Philippe Starck for the brand Kartell. Starck's approach to design is that before something is beautiful it must be useful, and his pieces seek to blend optimal functionality with timeless aesthetics. The Q/Wood Office Chair Beech won him the 2020 Red Dot 2020 Award is a great example.

This Starck design offers a spin on standard office chairs, that is comfortable, durable and attractive. The chair has a wide backrest and sides with straight edges that gently curve to form armrests. The sculpted shell also creates a rounded seat that perfectly accommodates sitters. The seat is made of mass-dyed thermoplastic technopolymer and features a cushion upholstered in an eco-friendly Aquaclean® fabric. The rest of the shell is made of curved 3D basic veneer. Underneath, Starck has added a tubular stem and a star-shaped base with wheels on every leg. This frame is made of chromed or painted steel.

The Q/Wood Office Chair Beech has a width of 62cm, a height of 81cm and a depth of 60cm, with a seat height of 37cm. It is available in dark or light beech with black or white seats.
