The Bloom S2 Suspension Lamp has been created by Ferruccio Laviani for the brand Kartell. Italian architect and industrial designer Laviani launched his career when the colourful and idiosyncratic design movement was going strong in the 1980s. His designs had the movement's characteristic bold colours and whimsical design. His experimental, playful touch can be seen in the Bloom S2 Suspension Lamp. Made of polycarbonate, it is shaped like a ball and has an outer surface that looks like it has spikes. It is actually a frame made of tubular polycarbonate that is completely covered with minute transparent double corolla polycarbonate flowers.
