Zero Chair

The Zero Chair has been created by Jan Kurtz for the brand Jan Kurtz. it is a retake of the early 90s school chair. This new interpretation gives it an industrial look that makes it suitable for use in other spaces apart from classrooms.

The Zero Chair has an ergonomic seat made of layers of plywood and topped with wood laminate. It is moulded with a lower edge that is inclined slightly downwards. The backrest is also slightly curved in at the sides so it provides adequate support for the back. The shell sits on a frame made of tubular steel bars that are finished with a powder coating. The rivets that hold the shell and the seat in place have been left unpainted which gives the chair an industrial look.

The Zero Chair has a width of 43cm, a height of 82cm and a depth of 51cm. Its seat height is 46cm. It can be used around a kitchen or dining table as well as in commercial spaces and institutions. It is available with neutral-coloured frames or bright ones that add an element of fun to a space. The colours also contrast stunningly against the warm tones on the shell.
