The Yoruba Rose LED Floor Lamp has been created by Dagmar Mombach and the in-house design studio for the brand Ingo Maurer. The lamp is named after one of the largest ethnic communities in West Africa. Styled to echo the traditional art of the Yoruba people, it uses paper to wonderful effect, creating a unique and highly practical illumination source for all rooms of the home.
The Yoruba Rose LED Floor Lamp strikes the eye immediately with its shade which resembles a seashell. To create the shell, Mombach has used a series of slender metal wires, before stretching hand-treated Japanese paper over the frame. The result is a form which ripples and folds beautifully, allowing a muted but insistent level of brightness to escape.
The shade of the Yoruba Rose LED Floor Lamp has a diameter of 50cm. At the same time, a metallic column raises the lamp's height to 160cm, making it a comparatively large table lamp and suitable for sideboards or dining tables. A switch is included on the base which controls the lamp and anables light dimming.
