Gräshoppa Table Lamp

The Gräshoppa Task Table Lamp has been designed by Greta Magnusson Grossman for the brand Gubi. Gubi combines reworking classics of the past such as this lamp from 1947 with creating the classics of tomorrow. Greta Magnusson Grossman started her career in Stockholm before moving to California and is widely credited with bringing the Scandi sense of design to the States. The lamp's name 'Gräshoppa' translates as 'grasshopper' and with its flexible, adjustable arm and neat head, the lamp bears some resemblance to an inquisitive insect.

The asymmetrical frame and over-large shade of the Gräshoppa Task Table Lamp add to its character, creating a playful yet practical piece for offices, bedrooms and living rooms. The base of the Gräshoppa Task Table Lamp is made of steel, the adjustable tubular arm is brass and the lampshade is powder-coated aluminium finished in a choice of five shades. There are two frame variants while the 250cm cable is gold. The on/off switch is centrally located in the base and the shade contains an E14 socket for which bulbs can be purchased as required. The Gräshoppa Task Table Lamp is 41.2cm in height, the lampshade is 14.4cm in diameter and the base is 15cm in diameter.
