Skagerak Fionia Stool

The Skagerak Fionia Stool has been created by Jens Quistgaard for the brand Fritz Hansen. It is made of FSC®-certified wood. This qualifies it for classification as a Sustainable Choice product.

The Skagerak Fionia Stool is made of teak or oak. It is the designer's take on an ancient chair. It has a distinctive X-shaped base that was used in pre-century civilisations in Rome, Egypt, Greece and others. The stool has a similar base. It is made of equally sized wooden bars attached together as slats with no spaces in between. The intricate base is made up of the same bars of wood. The top of each one is attached to the edge of the slats on top in a pattern that leaves equal spaces between the bars. The formation is enhanced by the bars being interlaced to form an X-shape. At the bottom, they are attached to a sturdy slab that holds all the bars together which steadies the stool on the floor. Gold-toned screws are another aesthetic touch.

The Skagerak Fionia Stool has a width of 40cm, a height of 44cm and a depth of 33.5cm. Its seat height is 44cm. The stool can be folded for convenient storage when not in use. This piece is not suitable for use outdoors.
