The Egg Chair Footstool Leather was created by Arne Jacobsen for the Danish company Fritz Hansen and is a typically elegant example of Scandinavian furniture design.
Jacobsen was a towering figure in post-war Danish design, creating iconic chair designs like the Drop and the Egg. This design comes from the latter collection, and is intended to complement Egg chairs. For those who aren't familiar with Jacobsen's work, Egg chairs have an egg-shaped seat and a high-back, with the appearance of an eggshell that has been cut in half. This stool neatly refers to the bowl of the "egg" and will be a great way to sit in comfort with your feet nicely elevated.
The Egg Chair Footstool Leather from Fritz Hansen is covered in richly toned leather with a smooth finish. It has been tightly bound to a rounded steel bowl, creating the elegant egg-shaped effect that the series is famous for.
The seat itself stands on an attractive steel base, with plastic feet to allow you to move the stool around without damaging delicate floors. It stands 56cm tall and is 37cm wide, and can be used both as a standalone chair and as a footstool.
