Product description

This Plass Media Suspension Lamp is a creation of Luca Nichetto for the Italian lighting experts at Foscarini. When you need to add some energy and colour to your interior spaces, lights like this will be the ideal way to do so.

Nichetto is a Venetian designer, but his emphasis is not purely on Italian traditions. He also maintains an office in Stockholm, a sign of his deep interest in Scandinavian design. You can see the combination of Italian artistry and Swedish efficiency in pieces like the Plass Media Suspension Lamp, and its a compelling fusion.

This lamp is designed to be suspended from the ceiling via a 190cm long cable resulting in a total suspension of 260cm . It consists of an imaginatively shaped coloured plastic shade that resembles the form of a watermelon more than anything else. The rippled surface of the shade is not just aesthetic. It also helps to create a dappled, interesting source of light that will play well on designer furnishings.

The shade has dimensions of 51 x 34 cm and requires an easily-installed 116W halogen bulb. This makes Foscarini's creation as practical and energy efficient as it is beautiful.
