Le Soleil Wall Lamp

The Le Soleil Wall Lamp is an innovative lighting product that was designed by Vincente Garcia Jimenez for the Italian label Foscarini. With its imaginative, fun design, it will add some charisma to even the blandest rooms.

Barcelona-based Jimenez always sets out to create whimsical products, not just practical or minimalist items. For him, the use of contours and diagonals can create intriguing new interpretations of traditional forms, and this Le Soleil Wall Lamp is a case in point.

The shade of the lamp is made from moulded polycarbonate plastic that has been arranged in a series of irregular tiers, creating the impression of a pile of bowls laid diagonally on top of each other. It's an original form, and one that works brilliantly.

When the lamp is turned on, light is filtered downwards, but also upwards through the levels of the lamp, causing the plastic to glow and illuminating the entire space. The end result of this Foscarini lamp is that rooms will be more evenly lit - not just the space immediately below. It measures 14 x 36 x 29 cm and weighs just 1.9 kg, so will be easy to install as well.
