The Snoopy Table Lamp, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1967, has been re-issued in honour of its fiftieth birthday by world-renowned lighting design label Flos.
The brothers worked closely with Flos from its very beginnings in 1960. By that time, the name Castiglioni was already synonymous with iconic Italian post-war design. Achille and his brothers were acclaimed for their imaginative, playful works that incorporated functional details without losing their sleek curvature.
This Snoopy Table Lamp stays true to the spirit of the original and is mostly made with the same materials. It's a witty yet stylish take on the snout of the world's most famous beagle, created by Charles Schulz. The enamelled metal shade, with its three cooling holes that bring to mind a bowling ball, perches atop an angled base made of white veined Carrara marble and fixed to a thick crystal disc, just as it was before. The lamp's LED light source is adjustable with a dimmer switch. Standing just 37cm tall and 39cm high, this collector's item would make the perfect accent for any mid-century modern desk or dining table.
